A paradise of color and scent, Inverewe Garden a living testament to Osgood Mackenzie’s dedication and creative vision.
Inverewe has been in the care of the National Trust for Scotland since the 1950s and was voted the UK’s number one garden in 2018. In creating Inverewe Garden, Mackenzie’s herculean task was a true definition of “gardening on the edge” – in this case, a barren landscape perched on the edge of the Atlantic. Today, Inverewe is an inspiring destination for thousands of visitors and it is our ambition to make their experience even more exciting by introducing two new features that will work together in perfect harmony. The Eyrie, a 20m-high observation tower, will offer unparalleled views over the garden and Loch Ewe, while the Wind Garden, flowing organically around its base, will take its inspiration from both the natural ecology of the estate and the challenges posed by climate change.
